Catarina dos Santos, guitarist Jow Ferreira (RN, Brazil) and drummer Rogerio Pitomba (RN, Brazil) met in Lisbon in 2019, and immediately connected artistically, through a common love for Jazz and Brazilian music. Freedom, spontaneity, improvisation, and a constant inversion of the traditional roles of each instrument, plus the richness and complexity of Brazilian rhythms, define Mais Cores. In this album you find original songs by Jow Ferreira and Catarina dos Santos, and also new versions of songs by António Loureiro, Avishai Cohen, Toninho Horta, Guina, André Mehmari, and Guillermo Klein.

   Catarina's sultry, clear tone, and beautiful improvisations, plus her sensibility for poems interpretation, Jow Ferreira's colorful comping and delicate, rich melodies, and Rogerio Pitomba's unique style of drumming, all comes together in an album that demonstartes the best in Brazilian Jazz made in Lisbon.
